Wayne Krieger studied at the Hartt College of Music and received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education majoring in Piano, Voice and Choral Conducting. Following a year of teaching at an Alternative School in Claverack, NY, he continued his studies toward Certification as a Music Therapist at Montclair State College, where he learned sign language and taught students at the Millburn School for the Hearing Impaired. This experience affected him deeply and he has since used signing in a spiritual as well an educational context. Wayne has worked with students with a wide variety of challenges, including autistic children, teenagers with emotional difficulties, and students with learning differences.

Trained as a classical pianist, Wayne has also performed jazz, Broadway music and contemporary popular music. Wayne has studied with three great voice teachers: Arthur Koret at Hartt, Jerry Siena at the University of Arizona and Peter Harvey at the Hartford Conservatory. Over the last thirty years he has served as a cantor, educator, composer and choral arranger. He is an accomplished singer, pianist and guitarist, and at his last congregation in NJ, his wonderful adult choir enhanced monthly instrumental Friday night services and special occasions.

Wayne is comfortable teaching younger children as well as high school students and adults. His sense of humor and positive energy are at the core of his relaxed teaching style. He and his wife Nancy perform in the duo Six Rivers which features his original compositions and arrangements. In Florida, they created a music curriculum for preschool through primary grades and recorded a professional CD and songbook.

Wayne and Nancy just recently moved back to Connecticut to be closer to their daughters and newest grandchild.
